Thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving, all! We are just getting ready for dinner with Josh's family. This year we are dining on apple-smoked turkey, home made cranberry sauce, stuffed mushrooms, and, of course, the traditional Mountain Dew from the gas station. Hope yours is great too!

Blogging is hard...

So I'm blogging from my phone to see if it's easier. Here's Gehry at the burger place. Let's consider this a test post...

9 Month Photos

Gehry is 9 months old! He's at a cute stage where he crawls everywhere, stands against chairs, grins at everything... so we decided to capture all of this adorable-ness with a photo shoot. These are from Fotofly, which I highly recommend. They are great! I loved my photographer and I love all the pictures. I really did try to narrow it down to my favorites...

Events of Summer

Where did summer go? I have to go back to school in a week and a half! We packed a lot of fun stuff into our summer. Here's a little of it:

1. I went to Girls Camp while Gehry played with Shannon, Brady, and Jackson.

2. We ate BBQ (well, Gehry didn't...). Josh, Grandpa Gleason, some uncles (I think), and Gehry went to a BBQ competition in Heber Valley... I don't know the details, but there was a lack of planning and so the vendors couldn't serve food. BBQ fail. Then they went to some BBQ place in Utah Valley and all was well.

3. We celebrated Strawberry Days. Gehry learned to clap just in time for the parade!

4. I went to the Common Core Academy (pretty much a week-long conference for work).

5. We threw a baby shower for Kourtney, which was pretty awesome. I'll have to post pictures later. And, by the way, we have 3 new baby girls in our neighborhood! Yay for girlfriends!

6. We picnic-ed. Our family took a little day trip to Logan for Zoe's baby blessing. Here we are at a picnic in the park afterward.

7. We wore red, white, and blue for the 4th of July! Gehry was not impressed with the fireworks. He loved his flag though! Thanks, Mandy!

8. We fished in Alaska! I have 106 photos from Alaska, so it deserves its own post. But here is my favorite. Salmon the size of an 8 month-old baby!

9. Josh graduated with him MBA from U of U. We'll post more on that later. And he has a new job!

10. I went to Youth Conference in Oakley.

11. We splashed at the splash pad.

12. We swam at the pool and hung out with lifeguards! Actually, we're taking lessons now at the pool where Scott works.

We've been having so much fun! Hope your summer is just as great!

5 Years

Yesterday was our 5 year wedding anniversary! Josh is great at giving the "traditional" anniversary gifts. For example, for our 1st anniversary (the "paper" anniversary) Josh gave me scrapbook paper. This year is the "wood" anniversary, so we went window shopping for a bedroom set. Since we were in Orem anyway, we stopped by Terra Mia for dinner. Have you been there? If not, go to their website now! It is my very favorite restaurant.

Please excuse my face. I am sans-makeup here because I just got back from girls camp.

Our yummy pizza. It's the Francesca's pizza-- mozzarella, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and prosciutto.

Caprese "salad." I love that mozzarella cheese, basil, tomatoes, and bread is called a salad.

The two cutest boys ever. I love them both to pieces! The last 5 years have been perfect!

We've Been Lazy

Very, very lazy. But I'm going to try to update more for the grandmas. There are A LOT of posts below, so check out our recent goings on!

Sometimes I Make Things

I've developed a new talent that doesn't involve butter or sugar... just yarn.

I started just making hats, which I love! When I was 12 I tried to crochet blankets. Skip was always so good at making afghans and I wanted to be just like her. But making blankets sucks. It takes WAY too long. By the third day of crocheting I was bored with the pattern and color of yarn so I just quit. I had a closet full of unfinished afghans. But hats are much more fun. They have fun patterns to follow and stitch up pretty quick. I made this one for Gehry and I've made a few for cousins and friends. Then I discovered crocheted stuffed animals:

This is a pink giraffe for Gehry's cousin, Zoe. Not a great picture, but the giraffe is stinking cute.

A turtle for Clover for her birthday.

And a little puppy for Gehry since this is the only pet he'll ever have :)

My Birthday!

The best part of my birthday is that it usually falls on Spring Break! Gehry and I spent the whole day together and it was the best! Here are my super amazing and delicious presents:

Agave (which I've been wanting to try for a while), imported balsamic vinegar (I could drink this stuff), almond butter, crystallized ginger (wouldn't that be lovely on a spice cupcake with cream cheese icing? I'll have to try that!), whole nutmeg (for the spice cupcakes!), pure lemon, mint, and vanilla extracts, and last but not least... vanilla beans! I got 6 whole vanilla beans and I'm going crazy! Since my birthday we've made vanilla cupcakes with vanilla bean icing, vanilla syrup, and vanilla sugar. It's amazing!

Thanksgiving Point

I took off a personal day earlier this month... just to get a break. So Gehry and I went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. We met up with Mandy and Clover (it was Clover's first birthday!). Enjoy the pictures.

Easter

Easter was great! Gehry loved his Easter basket so much! He got a toy and baby food! Also, note his cute Easter outfit. I love it so much that he wears it just about every day.

We tried to get a nice picture of him in his Easter clothes. This was the best shot though :(

We visited family for dinner. Elliette got a big book of stickers and this is the aftermath. He actually liked it a lot more than it appears :)

Little Swimmer

During Spring Break, I took Gehry out to the pool to see how he liked it. I'm looking forward to mom-and-me swim classes this summer, so this was a test run! I think he liked it!

We got a smile out of him!
Chilling with the cousins (Elliette, Camryn, Clover, and Gehry)

More of Gehry

I love this boy.I love his eyes and his smile.

I love his concerned, crinkly forehead expression.

I love his bald spot and how he looks in the hats I put on him to hide his bald spot :)

I love him so much that I haven't done much of anything else lately! So here he is. Hopefully I'll find time to be productive and make dinner or something!

Fun to Read

I love blog surfing. I don't know why. It's just fun to check up on my friends and family, and I love all of your blogs. If you're looking for blogs to stalk, I'd like to recommend the following:

1. Rockstar Diaries (This is a friend of mine way back in the ballet days. Now she's some kind of famous for blogging. Way to go, Naomi. She's super upbeat and has lots of cute photos. I gotta be honest though, I don't get the clothes. I'm just not into fashion I guess because it doesn't make sense to me. Still, very fun to read if you've got a minute)

2. Newlywed Adventures and Musings of the Wife (I love Kourtney. She is hilarious. Somehow all of her non-adventures are more exciting than so many of my super adventures put together. She just has a way with words. She is clever, witty, and sarcastic. I'm totally hooked on her blog!)

3. Cookies and Cups (This might be my all time favorite blog. I check it everyday. Cookies, cakes, treats of all kinds. Please. I want to be just like Shelly when I grow up. She is seriously my hero.)

Go forth and read. And as a treat for stopping by, please enjoy this cute little guy sporting his skull and crossbones babylegs and the cozy, ear-flappy, skull hat I made him. What can I say? He's my muse!

The First 10 Weeks

First of all, the days and weeks fly by now! It seemed like everything dragged when I was pregnant, and now our baby is growing up so fast! Here are some of the highlights in Gehry's first 10 weeks:Gehry is a good little sleeper. He is wide awake and alert during the day, but we've gotten a lot of sleep at night. I really can't ask for more!

Gehry got to play with cousins at Thanksgiving. This is him compared to Tillie, who is only four months older than him. Don't worry though... he's catching up!

Gehry turned 1 month old!

He enjoyed lots and lots of football with Dad. (By the way, why is the Capital One Bowl Week really three weeks long? So misleading...)

He met Santa Claus! This was taken at the Gleason Christmas Eve party.

Christmas is so much fun with a kid--even a kid who has no idea what's going on.

He loves Mommy.

Lots of social smiles!

Blessing day!

Baby G in his cute little outfit that is neither a tuxedo nor a baby baker outfit!

Turned 2 months old! He was really more excited than it shows in the picture.

We learned he cries like Mom.

Playing "motorcyle" with Dad. Dad can make him laugh now. So can Glamma Gleason. But no giggles for Mom. Lame.

We love our happy boy!
